Arthur had a pit dug, then captured monstrous Deadites, and had them positioned inside the pit. Arthur's enemies can be thrown into the pits, the place they'd be brutally killed. When Ash Williams fell from the medieval skies as a result of a time rift, Arthur has him captured and thrown within the pit. Ash used his chainsaw and his boomstick to kill the Deadites.
